Deb Weyrich-Cody has been enthralled by the workings of the natural world her whole life - from chasing bugs to picking up snakes - she's always had a fascination with living things, but most especially those that most people would call "weeds".
You will see this interest reflected in her work which uses botanical materials imprinted into the wet clay to help decorate exquisite platter and bowl forms. She also uses overlapping glazes to create vignettes reminiscent of the rolling hills of Northumberland County and her pinch pots sometimes take on a life of their own to suddenly become a turtle's shell or peony blossom.
She trained with Susan McDonald, and taught hand-building classes in her studio as well.
Deb hopes her work will inspire you to appreciate the incredible plant life that surrounds us every day!
